What is this zine about?

A Warm Light is a SteveTony zine celebrating and reliving the wonderful days of 2012 era fic. Clint lives in the vents, Thor eats a lot of poptarts and our favorite couple is falling in love over movie nights and gala dates.

Will it be physical or digital?

The zine will be available both digitally (PDF) and physically.

Is it a non-profit or for-profit?

Non-profit! After contributors have been compensated we aim to donate any profit we may have to Rainbow Railroad and Doctors Without Borders.

Is it nsfw?

No, participants need to be +18 but the content of the zine will be SFW.

How will you be communicating with contributors?

We’ll be emailing major news updates, but we’ll also have a Discord for our contributors that will be used for a lot of communication and brainstorming–all contributors will be invited to join the Discord.

Is there a minimum age to join?

All contributors need to be +18 to be able to join. If you are under 18, we will reject your application.

Will contributors be compensated?

Contributors will receive a physical copy of the zine and if the sales allow it, merch items.

Are other ships allowed?

Background pairings are allowed but the main focus of the work is required to be on SteveTony
·
How many contributors?

Our aim is between 30-40 contributors, artists and writers included.

Are AUs allowed?

All contributors will be assigned a timeline– 2012 Canon Compliant, 2012 AU, or 2012 Endgame Timeline.

2012 AU will include anything that’s set in the Avenger original timeline, but includes elements like soulmates, A/B/O, Identity Porn, etc.

Where is it going to be sold?

Preorder details will be announced well before the they go live–be sure to follow our Twitter or Blog for that info!

What are the author requirements?

A complete fic between 2,000-5,000 words, set within the timeline you’ve been assigned, with a focus on Steve&Tony’s relationship, that is rated no higher than M.

What are the artist requirements?

Art will be assigned upon acceptance to the zine, but will be one of the following:

·1 full page + 2 small/simple illustrations
1 spread illustration (2 pages)
A comic of up to 2 pages.

We’re so excited you want to be a part of the zine! Please take a second to read the rules and schedule before you apply–you can do that here.

When will we know if we’ve been accepted?

We have a soft deadline of one week (April 17th) after submissions close, and a hard deadline of 10 days (April 20th) to inform contributors of their acceptance. Please be sure to use an email you check regularly as confirmations will be sent to emails and will require a confirmation of acceptance.

How long do contributors have to confirm their acceptance?

Contributors have one week to confirm their acceptance. (April 24-27th)

I haven’t written/created/participated in fandom before–can I still apply?

Yep! We do need to see a sample of your writing or art, but if you don’t have that on AO3 or your blog, just send us an email with the sample to consider.

CONTRIBUTOR INFO

What is the application process going to be like?

We’re trying to make it pretty simple! Artists and Writers will fill out the same form. We do not allow anonymous applications, as we’ll need to contact you. We also require a sample portfolio. If you do not have one already on AO3, please email us with work to consider AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION. Do not create content for the zine before you’ve been accepted.

Will writers have input on what they get to write?

Of course!! In the application, please indicate what verse you’d prefer writing for–we’ll do everything to make sure you have that timeline!

Will there be a NSFW version available?

No. This zine will be only be SFW.
·
Are you going to allow collaborations within the zine?

Yes! We’re excited to set up collabs for this zine, although not every artist/writer will be assigned a collab partner.

Why is the zine about 2012 Avengers?

We love everything about the 2012 Avengers era–the fic, the found family, the pining, how everything was possible and nothing hurt (yet.) We all need that best era back and celebrating the 10 year anniversary seems like the perfect time to step back into it.
